It's Friday at 4:40 a.m... I'm home my friends.. home

Love a nice quiet non-shopping Friday after Thanksgiving Day morning.
Have fun shoppers, blessings on you all!
I'm in pj's and on a third cup of coffee, soon to be draining the pot.

Yesterday was a full and blessed Thanksgiving again.
The morning was great; for the past three years we've been privileged to spend Thanksgiving morning in the kitchen at Devos Place in Grand Rapids, Mi., along with many volunteers, following the chefs' directions on how to distribute over 2000 meals. Those chefs must be so happy to go back to skilled help after 3 hours with us.

We love working in the huge banquet hall style kitchen, as you might guess we're especially fond of the hats;

.

For the past 15 years Mel Trotter Ministries has allowed 700 volunteers to work with their staff in a massive effort to pull off a meal, which is served at noon, all at one time, an amazing feat.
The organizing of this meal must be well thought out and instructions clear or they are looking at a giant disaster. The children are as involved as the adults and work like troopers.

Besides the 700 volunteers other folks donate the turkeys.. this year 960 of them. There certainly are a lot of generous and caring people in this world.

The meal is held in one of the biggest venues in Grand Rapids, the room is prepared the day before with beautifully set linen draped round tables.

Live music is playing all morning.

Our family spends little time in the dining room
but opts for the kitchen
with the pies.
There were 500 of them to be cut.

Or we dish up sweet potatoes and all the other traditional Thanksgiving delights.
1500 pounds of turkey served family style.

Mel Trotter Ministries has provided this Thanksgiving meal annually for 15 years, but year around they offer
beds, food, help, mentoring, biblical studies, education,
job hunting training and support for the homeless, addicted,
and hurting in Grand Rapids, Mi.
And their families.

Like this guy, who's playing peek a boo with his potatoes.

And these folks.

Thanks Mel Trotter Ministries.

Yeah, thanks.. a lot.
