Glorious Michigan winter

Isn't winter glorious? And the Michigan landscape was especially blessed with hardwood and evergreen trees to carry snow cover and the lakes, oh the lakes! The shimmering ice.
It was especially fun to do a search for winter photos of some favorite Michigan vacation or lakeside spots.
Pull up a heated afghan or cozy quilt and enjoy!

Holland channel's north pier.
I walked this pier in winter once..Oh how I thank God I survived.
Hey you guys out there.. what are you thinking?!

Ice breaker?
Copper Harbor, Mi.
Dad, just a few hours before he passed away as he thought of places that meant a lot to him, said to us, "Go to Copper Harbor, but don't go in the summer there are too many bugs,
you need to go in the fall."
Winter, so beautiful too.

"It's a mommy bird!", says the 3 year old,
even though these are the males.
Because they're so pretty he thinks
they must be the mommies.

Tahquanenom Falls in the U.P., this place is very familiar to Michigan tourists who have
walked the trail back to these falls in the summer.

Sledding down the front hill of our codge
onto the lake, 2008.
could go on and on
But will stop
And enjoy the refreshment of
winter and be thankful for eyes
to enjoy the bling from the sun
 when light hits crystals
Love the sparkles of winter.
