About mud and a firebox.

Said the 11 year old to his 10 year old cousin, "COME ON! Get out, before she kisses you goodbye!", as they headed to the woods on Friday afternoon.

Goodbye kisses are not entirely welcomed any more by the Middle schooler? ahhh...

One 11 year old,
one 10 year old,
one 3 year old and
a nummy little bundle of sweetness
stayed overnight last weekend.

Since Sideline Grandpa loves caramel apples we decided to let the boys help make their own. With Grandpa leading the way.

They were so good and messy and drippy and sticky.

(by the way I couldn't find popscicle sticks so Grandpa made his own)

Kraft wrapped candy so good.. hmm the lack of a smile there on the left seems a bit odd doesn't it?
What's in there Little Strong Man?

Caramel is one of the worlds greatest foods, IMHO.
Enjoy!
This picture reminds me, we forgot to brush teeth before bed.. oops.

Everyone gets a chance to stir the candy.

The boys were amazed at Grandpa's apple dipping skills.

They were all in!!!

Another thing they learned was;
hot sticky caramel
leaves a mark. eek..

So good!!!
Forks work nicely in place of sticks.. by the way.

In the meantime Smile Bundle was having his own party

We have a wood burning stove in the workshop barn..
more hot stuff!

Editorial comment; The plastic swimming pool was moved soon after this photo was taken..
Good night sister, how do our children trust us with their offspring?

The boys were a huge help to us
They hauled wood from the back yard and into the basement for use in the wood burning fireplace
this winter.

They worked hard
and we really appreciate it.
Thanks guys..

And ..
ahhhhh..
where are you going?
He loves that tractor..

Somebody had to do the splitting.

There we go..

A gorgeous day to be outside, play around in the mud, throw sticks and climb hills.
sweet..

 bye for now.. Sideline ..
