A frustration, a nemesis, oh the weariness of pawing through drawers looking for a lid that fit! And try as might I've never been able to keep everything matched up. I could as well throw them in the air and hope for the best.
I'm a Tupperware failure.
This has been an accepted family fact; Tupperware drives mom crazy.
Then on Saturday, September 10, my daughter looked me straight in the eyes and with these words removed all residue of housewifely failure in the Tupperware department when she said;
"I just figured out why you always had so much trouble with those Tupperware lids "children" that was it mom, it was because you had children. I've never had a problem with my storage containers, until now, the pieces are always missing and I can't find the lids. It's the kids."
Golly what a relief to know it's never been my fault! I'm redeemed.
So today while cleaning and reorganizing my plastic storage container cabinet I had to marvel over this
one piece of vintage Tupperware that has survived 40 years of children and much use in this house.
How did this piece manage to stick around for so long?
How did this lid stay in tact?
And it's not as though we've hidden it in the back of a drawer. It's been used.
And look, the lid fits!
It's the Pylon orange snap in the center seal.. vintage 1970's.
Congratulations, you survived the children. |
