On the right side of the blog you'll see a link to four Matt Maher songs.
I just like this guy's music.
Maher was in full-time ministry at his home church in Mesa, Arizona, now he's a respected worship leader with an international platform. He's also developed a reputation for being a versatile songwriter and recording artist – all for the glory of God.
The song "Love Will Hold Us Together" (also on the right) doesn't have an overt Christian message - unless you substitute "Jesus" for the word "love".
“You Were on the Cross,” wrestles with the often asked question, “...where is God in the hurt and heartbreak.” Through this song Maher points out God’s presence in our suffering.
He says, “Not only is the cross, in and of itself, the atonement for sin, it is the means by which all human suffering becomes a transformational moment."
mmmm... that's good.
The reason I added the links to Maher's music is because of a new release, the
song "Turn Around" which is the link on the far right.
There's a slight country music attitude to the song. The lyrics provide a picture of human mistakes, how we reach out for acceptance, or numbing of pain, in the worst possible ways. A Savior is waiting.
Remembering the quote from C.S.Lewis who was an atheist for many years of his life.
Lewis attempted to run away from God until one day, as he put it, "I turned around and He was there".
Be blessed..
