It's Salad Week - Let's call it spring cleaning

Can we just be this honest about this? After all these many months of yakking about nearly everything let's talk healthy spring eating. And other things.

Taking the words of advice from Padma, Padma, from Top Chef, the very lean and healthy foodie and show hostest who advocates for good colon health and elimination. (carefully choosen word). I'm going to advocate for that too, perhaps my body would be enthusiastic and happy.

I do now and officially declare it to be 'Salad Week' on the lovely wooded compound.
May the force be with us.

Here are some healthful tips from Padma..
these are not from me because there's no way I do any research on such information.

It's like a miracle what these fresh vegetables and fruit will do for us.
Carrot + ginger + apple
cleanse and boost the system

Apple + cucumber - celery
prevent cancer, reduce cholesterol,
eliminate stomach upset and headache

Tomato + carrot + apple
Improve skin complexion and eliminate bad breath. All-righty-then.

Bitter gourd (don't know what that is) + apple + milk
reduce internal body heat
(menopausal help perhaps?)

Orange + ginger + cucumber
Improves skin texture and moisture
reduces body heat

Honeydew + grapes + watermelon + milk
rich in vitamin C and vitamin B2, increases cell
activity and immune system

Grocery list for Costco this week;
melons, oranges, tomatoes, carrots, apples, grapes, ginger and cucumber.. and some greens to make a "bed" for them.

It's spring dear friends!

It's time to clean "house", at least around here.
So far, on Monday, I've had frozen vegetables.. looking forward to going with fresh!

One more thought this on walking which as we know, is great for muscles, bone strength, our hearts and lungs and all those things.
Look what God did, he created our bodies with nerves that cause our internal organs to function.. and look where all those nerves end --- right in the bottom of our feet. The placement for those nerve endings are depicted in the picture below.

Check out the heart on the side of the left foot. and the kidneys in the middle, the lungs at the top.
Think about what happens as we walk around? All those nerves are stimulated..
God, You are so smart.

Salad-a-rama!!
Sideline Grandma.

Pea soup for dinner here.
Love and hugs and health to your bones and body.
Yeah Spring!
